It’s been about 9 weeks since my last color. I swear my hair grew faster when I was dyeing it and has now decided to slow down without the constant onslaught of chemicals.
I bought a few hats/beanies to wear when it reaches a couple inches in new growth, but by then, it will be too warm to wear them. Hiding my demarcation line will become difficult.
I still worry about how “old” I will look with my new grey hair, and I have to admit being “half grey” at age 50 might be hard to handle when my birthday hits this year. However, once I make up my mind about something, there’s no turning back.
Having “older” looking hair at age 50 is better than having almost no hair at age 60 because I damaged my scalp so badly. Then there’s the risk of bladder cancer, and the fact that I can’t, in good conscience, claim I live a more natural and holistic life while I’m pouring chemicals on my hair every 4 weeks.
