{Outdoor Life} Race #44

Today was race number 44 for me since October 2013.

It was supposed to be a 7K, but it measured at 4.24 miles. I really don’t understand how they couldn’t move the finish line ONE-TENTH of a mile (they did warn it was a 7K-ISH) so that it could fit in with my previous 5 races of 7K distance (including this very race we ran last year when this one was forced to be virtual).

This is my second race of 2021, and the second postponed race for weather. Our Valentine’s Day race and this St Paddy’s Day race were both postponed exactly a week because of snow and cold. It was far better weather today! Perfect for running: 40 degrees at the start and sunny.

We were supposed to have a half marathon next month (and four of my girls a 10K), but the race was cancelled because they can’t have the finish line party they want, so it was postponed until NOVEMBER. We were offered a virtual option, so we took it for the girls and plan to do the 10K with the girls virtually for my 17 yos birthday.

We have two more races, scheduled in May and June, I do hope we get to finish them. Hubby is trying to get his last TWO half marathons to reach 50 before 50, and this last year and the government reaction has made it incredibly difficult.
