{Outdoor Life} 2020 Bucket List Items Complete

January 2020: Dopey Challenge 4 races, 4 days, 48.6 miles

We had planned this one for about a year and a half. I never actually thought I would do this; I had run the 2018 25th Disney World Marathon and it was my first 26.2. After finishing that race, the idea of running a marathon, after a half marathon, after a 10K, and after a 5K was daunting, but I decided it was “now or never.” It was hard work in 2019, but I am so happy I worked at it. Hubby and my brother also finished (SO MUCH FASTER than I did lol).

March 2020: Manitou Springs Incline. +2,020 feet in 1 mile.
The photo on the right is the following morning. We snuck in our climb just before the snow hit. Just the two of us. It was a great challenge and on our bucket list for many years.

May 2020: As a family (minus our oldest, who was working) we walked all the way around Barr Lake. 9.4 miles. We convinced the girls to walk the entire thing and, in return, they got ice cream. 😉

August 2020: 5 mile walk along the Mystic portion of the Mikelson trail in South Dakota.

September 2020: St. Mary’s Glacier. It’s a steep short hike to visit a local glacier. It’s definitely a Colorado “must-do” for everyone.

September 2020: Crystal Mill Hike. This was just the two of us, we had to start from the bottom (no 4 wheel drive) it was just under 10 miles round trip. We plan to take the girls in 2021. This one is the most photographed Mill (and appears on many puzzles.

2021 Bucket List Items: Not sure what 2021 will hold for us. Hubby needs three more half marathons to complete 50 half marathons by age 50, so that will be our focus. Perhaps another 14er this year.
