{Family Life} Merry Christmas

We celebrated Christmas today.

We had four of our seven girls present, along with Papa R and Nana J.

It’s a tough year for my dad. He lost his wife of 55 years a few months ago. We are doing all we can to help him find purpose every day, but I know it’s hard for him.

I think it’s harder for me to be separated from my own child this year, than from my mom. I had many years with her, day to day. It’s harder for me to not even recognize my own child, to know so little about her.

We pray for all three of our prodigal children, almost daily. We pray for their futures, for their eternal souls, even when they have nothing but disdain for us. We hope for them. We love them.

Today was actually very peaceful and lovely. Nana J had car problems today, so that was a bit hard for her, but we were grateful to have her with us. It was a sweet day of laughter and love.

We opened gifts, had a nice dinner, then a candlelight service at church. After, we had dinner out, looked at some spectacular light displays, and now are headed home.

Remember that this season is about Christ, and without him, there would be no Christmas.
