{10th anniv} Windy Day at Coco Cay

We had high hopes to snorkel today and see some fish, but we woke up to this:

The wind is blowing on the side of the island with snorkeling, and they were keeping everyone in the swim shallows behind the breaks.

Our stateroom is somewhere in that frame.
Chill island was where we were going to snorkel, but we just walked through.

We decided to walk around the island first, then head over to Hideaway Beach.

The island is rather large, and we walked about a mile before we had to take the tram (they didn’t want us walking on certain streets).

When we finally got to Hideaway Beach, and we had, again, not eaten anything. It was 11 am, so we grabbed food. We both grabbed coconut shrimp (it was very good), ceviche to try (not terrible, but the texture of the fish was weird), and Shane got a chicken sandwich (I’ve never seen a flatter chicken sandwich!).

We found a couple lounge chairs together and hit the water. This side of the island was actually protected from some of the wind in a little cove.

The rocks have only one little opening that protects the bay from rushing water.
The water was a little chilly.

We managed about an hour and a half in the water. My sun tee was too hot, but I probably should have worn it.

More like Windy Day at Coco Cay! Ha! But it was lovely.
Our little boat is on the right. The left is the Wonder of the Seas, it’s huge!
Almost had enough of the sun. I’m getting burned!
The fruity non-alc drink of the day. Very fruity.

At 2:30 pm (4 hours on the island) we decided we were sandy and sticky and icky and needed a shower.

When we came back on the boat (level 1), the elevators were very busy. We walked up 8 flights of stairs (does that qualify for an extra dessert??) to our room.

The rest of the trouble-making Monday will have to be typed later.

Later gators! 🐊
