{10th Anniv} Monday Afternoon

After our shower, and a little rest, we decided to take another walk. We ended up on the top deck just after leaving port, and decided to play mini golf.

Have you ever played mini golf in a wind tunnel? 💨

We did. It was hilarious. Our ball moved on its own. My hair blocked my sight most of the time. And we laughed and laughed!

We didn’t keep score, of course, and couldn’t handle more than 9 holes. I think we will try again in calmer weather.

As part of our beverage package (soda and non-alcoholic drinks) we get milkshakes from Johnny Rockets. In fact, when we verified we get one free milkshake a day, the employee said we could have a “free” milkshake every 15 minutes if we desired.

We decided one a day is enough. We shared a cookies and cream milkshake today.

We picked up another free rope bracelet in the madness, didn’t win the raffle again, bought our daily charm, and decided to have dinner in the buffet tonight instead of the main dining room so we could see the shows later.

Dinner was okay, I had some fish and some chicken Parmesan, a meatball, and a lamb ball in curry. I didn’t take photos, so it must not have been that interesting.

After dinner, we popped into another game show. This one was “high low” and sadly, the sweet girl running it had no idea how it was supposed to be played. She was reading from her instruction sheet, and struggled though. She had it all mixed up and didn’t understand when to use the audience for “higher or lower.” We left halfway through.

We got to Studio B (the theater with the ice rink) nice an early to ensure seating. It’s very limited. The theme of the ice show was “freedom.”

The first two costumes were 80s neon and 70s hippie. They also had some weird striped (bankers?) costumes, some weird bird thing, and pirates. Songs included “In the navy,” “we didn’t start the fire,” “we will rock you,” “the wall,” and “in your eyes.”

It was mishmash that made no real sense.

That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it <despite wondering how it would go sandwiched between 2 male gay couples; they were very polite, though rather flamboyant>. I actually thought the skating was fun to watch (in spite of a couple falls, but with the way the boat was rocking, it’s to be expected to have difficulty landing a jump when the ground suddenly moves).

I would give this show a B. It’s fun to watch, but a little nonsensical.

We left quickly for the next show “A night with Adele” with Amy Jo. She was fantastic! A+. She’s funny, engaging, and so darn talented! She doesn’t sound exactly like Adele (only Adele sounds like Adele) but she is so impressive! So close!

Ironically, her speaking voice sounds like Melissa McCarthy! I couldn’t believe it. And it’s obvious she has been an entertainer (musical theater?) for many years. She’s very good.

She’s playing on the Royal Caribbean line for a couple years, she’s definitely worth an hour. She can belt it out!

It’s now 12:30 am and the seas are rather rough. We are rocking a bit (it’s going to be a good night of sleep). We learned from the Cruise director at the end of Amy Jo’s show that the next two days are cancelled at Coco Cay, so our own day was just in time! We left as the wind started up and we are now headed south out of the wind.

Fallon asleep family, have a good night!
