{10th Anniv} holy stairs Batman!

I wanted to do a quick post about about the stairs on the ship.

Why? Because I went for a walk today to kick off my diet and exercise (and eventually new training plan for a half) and my knees are sore!

More sore than I can remember in a decade.

There’s no doubt part of it is the horrible diet of sugar and more sugar we had on the boat, which caused terrible inflammation, but they are also sore from climbing stairs.

I can’t give an exact number for the week because I know my gps was wonky the whole time on the boat. I know for sure we climbed at least 18 regular flights of stairs per day.

Why? The buffet was on deck 11. We were on 8. The Promenade was on Deck 5.

On deck 11 was also the pool, the taco bar, the entrance to the stairs for the mini golf on deck 12, and the list goes on.

If I had to put a number on it, we took the elevator maybe 4 times in 7 full days.

The day we arrived—Sunday—we walked from deck 4 to deck 8, then to deck 11 for dinner, back to 5 on the Promenade, up to 8 to change for dinner, back to 5 for dinner, then up to change again…the list goes on!

Wednesday might be accurate, it was a rest day. We didn’t do much.

Thursday was a crazy day, we walked from deck 1 to our stateroom twice from shore excursions, then all over the place for Halloween adventures.

At any rate, my knees are sore, which isn’t a bad thing overall. But it does make me realize I have some work to do in the coming months.
